Dan Hooker isn’t taking Paddy Pimblett’s mockery lying down, and even took a pop at a former middleweight contender.

Hooker made a tasteless comment on X in response to Pimblett recently, and has come under fire. What many fans and readers have left out of the story is a heinous joke made by the lightweight title contender that led to the New Zealander’s reaction.

Darren Till stepped in to defend his fellow scouser, branding Hooker a ‘piece of s—‘. However, the lightweight has made his case to Till as well, standing his ground in the face of an onslaught of social media abuse.

Dan Hooker goes back at Paddy Pimblett

After being branded the ‘lowest of the low’ by Paddy Pimblett, it didn’t take long for Dan Hooker to get his own back on social media. He reiterated the disgusting nature of the number five-ranked Brit’s initial comment and insisted that he was justified.

“Thought we couldn’t be mates cause I’m ranked above you?” Pimblett wrote. “You took a hypothetical joke about how bad your grappling is and responded by talking s— about my mate who committed suicide? Now that’s lowest of the low and on site is fine by me you’re utter dogs— at fighting.”

In fact, Pimblett’s comment was a pretty dark joke, when he told MMA Guru during a YouTube stream that Hooker ‘couldn’t grapple a r—ist off his mum’. Hooker’s reply was to indirectly tweet about Pimblett, sharing a video of the pair seeming friendly.

“Ain’t said s— when we were face to face b—-,” Hooker wrote on X. “I thought we were mates, but you’re not a very good mate are you @PaddyTheBaddy, RIP Ricky.” Ricky is a friend of Pimblett’s who passed away in 2022.

And the New Zealander made that known, writing back: “A ‘joke’ about my mother being r–ed. I could never tolerate that level of disrespect.”

Dan Hooker reacts to Darren Till’s message

It wasn’t just Pimblett who went back at Hooker for his post. Former welterweight title contender and current Misfits Boxing star Darren Till branded him a ‘piece of s—‘ for what he had written.

Hooker took to X to write back: “What would you do Darren?” Till had not replied to the tweet at the time of writing.
