Dan Hooker is continuing to put on fights while preparing for bouts of his own.

Ilia Topuria isn’t going to be back to defend the UFC lightweight title anytime soon due to other parts of his life that have taken priority right now.

Despite this, the lightweight division and the majority of its top names aren’t choosing to wait around, with some big fights being announced in recent weeks.

Hooker, who called out Renato Moicano after his recent loss, is one of the fighters who are looking to stay active.

His next outing may have already been confirmed for UFC 325 next month, but that hasn’t stopped him from exploring one of his other big passions.

Dan Hooker’s 1-Minute Scraps crowns the ‘daddest man on the planet’

Dan Hooker admitted that he won’t be a UFC champion after he was submitted by Arman Tsarukuyan in Qatar last month.

That doesn’t mean that he’s no longer motivated to fight, with ‘The Hangman’ now choosing to focus on spoiling other people’s dreams instead.

Before he takes part in a matchup with Benoit Saint-Denis on January 31 that has Fight of the Night written all over it, Hooker recently switched roles to put on his promoter hat again.

The fan favorite’s ‘1-Minute Scraps’ recently returned for another boxing tournament, which Hooker had already said would be “dad’s only” to give the winner some prize money before Christmas.

As always, the full video of the tournament was posted by TheMacLife on YouTube, with a 32-man tournament taking place in just under an hour and ten minutes.

The winner was awarded $50,000 following a dominant performance in the finals after the random draw format meant that he had to face his own brother in the semis.

Dan Hooker plans on upping the stakes for his next tournament

As is often the case when Dan Hooker holds a 1-Minute Scraps event, he’s already got plans in mind for the next tournament.

‘The Hangman’ said at the end of the video that he wants to take the events back to the backyard after hosting this latest instalment, and several others, in a gym.

Hooker also wants to raise the stakes when returning to the promotion’s backyard roots, stating that they’ll up the prize money to $100,000 next time.
