Fox News contributor and former professional wrestler Tyrus has never shied away from bold opinions—and his latest critique is setting social media ablaze.
Following former President Donald Trump’s win in the 2024 presidential election, Tyrus blasted the co-hosts of ABC’s The View for what he called a “bitter, angry, entitled” response to the outcome.
The fiery commentary came during a segment on Fox’s Gutfeld!, where Tyrus addressed the growing backlash from progressive media figures and celebrities who have vocally criticized Trump’s return to the White House.
But it was the daytime talk show The View that drew the sharpest rebuke.
“They act like the sky is falling every time the American people vote in a way they don’t like,” Tyrus said.
“You can see it on their faces—bitter, angry, entitled. They’re not having a political discussion. They’re throwing tantrums because they didn’t get what they wanted.”
The comment came in response to a recent episode of The View in which several co-hosts, including Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin, expressed concerns about the implications of Trump’s re-election on democracy, women’s rights, and minority communities.
While their critiques were in line with much of liberal media sentiment, Tyrus took issue with the tone and messaging.
The View, known for its roundtable format and blend of celebrity gossip and political commentary, has long drawn criticism from conservative audiences.
With a lineup of left-leaning co-hosts and occasional token conservative voices, the show has become a flashpoint in America’s culture war.
Tyrus argued that the show reflects a larger problem in mainstream media: “They talk about unity and tolerance, but the moment voters make a choice they disagree with, they insult half the country.”
Unsurprisingly, Tyrus’ remarks drew strong reactions on both sides of the aisle.
Conservative viewers praised him for “saying what everyone is thinking,” while liberal critics accused him of deflecting from serious concerns about Trump’s policies.
Social media erupted with hashtags like #TyrusTruth and #ViewVsReality, as users debated whether The View fosters meaningful dialogue or simply reinforces echo chambers.
The incident reignites a recurring question about political commentary in entertainment: when does opinion become propaganda? Tyrus, a frequent voice on Gutfeld! and other Fox programming, has carved out a niche as a no-nonsense commentator unafraid to punch up at what he sees as media elitism.
Meanwhile, The View continues to be one of daytime TV’s most-watched shows, despite—or perhaps because of—its polarizing nature.
