FBI & ICE Crush Minneapolis Drug Hub: Omar Relative Arrested in Major Operation
As the sun rose over Minneapolis, the city was unaware of the dark activities taking place beneath its surface.
Federal analysts had been tracking a narcotics network that involved heroin, fentanyl, and cash, all linked to a series of recent violent threats made by a Somali student against ICE agents.
Hassan Muhammad, the student in question, filmed himself declaring that he would track down and shoot ICE agents if they entered his neighborhood.

His video quickly went viral, prompting federal authorities to take the threat seriously amid a surge in threats against immigration officers.
Once the operation was approved, a tactical unit comprising ICE, DEA, and local police was formed, with over 30 agents assigned to locations tied to prior investigations.
The operation commenced with precision as agents moved into the university district, breaching doors and clearing rooms in a coordinated effort to dismantle the drug network.
Inside one apartment, agents discovered nine phones and altered IDs, while another unit found $74,000 hidden behind a ventilation panel.
The investigation revealed a systematic narcotics network operating under the guise of everyday life, utilizing coded messages and harmless labels to disguise drug shipments.

One folder contained a spreadsheet documenting 58 shipments of narcotics, while another phone held images of vacuum-sealed packages typical for drug storage.
The trail of evidence led investigators to Abd Raman Khalif Nure, a 42-year-old with previous links to interstate drug routes.
Financial records indicated that he had received over $410,000 within six months, far exceeding any legitimate income.
The seized devices revealed a structured operation with leadership, logistics, and extensive reach, suggesting that the network was still active and operational.
As the investigation progressed, agents uncovered a central hub known as the “quarry base,” located in an abandoned industrial zone outside Minneapolis.

This site was identified as a key location for drug processing and distribution, with intelligence suggesting that weapons were stored inside and connections to cartel-level operations.
When agents executed the raid on the quarry base, they encountered Nure sitting calmly at a table surrounded by cash, firearms, and detailed ledgers of shipments across three states.
The operation marked a significant victory against organized crime, but it also opened a larger investigation into a multi-state criminal enterprise with international ties.
Following Nure’s arrest, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar publicly claimed that her son had been targeted by ICE agents, alleging racial profiling and intimidation.
ICE quickly rebutted her claims, stating that there were no records of any interaction with her son, accusing her of fabricating the incident to stir public sentiment.

This political clash intensified as supporters of Omar argued that the enforcement operation was heavy-handed, while opponents pointed to the evidence of a significant narcotics network operating within the community.
The investigation revealed that the network was not only extensive but also deeply integrated into everyday life, with runners working in community centers and grocery stores to facilitate drug distribution.
As federal agents continued their work, they faced the challenge of navigating public perception while remaining focused on dismantling the criminal network.

The operation highlighted the importance of vigilance and accountability in protecting innocent communities from the dangers lurking beneath the surface.
The investigation is ongoing, with agents continuing to unravel the full extent of the narcotics network and its connections across state lines.
