“We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand,” the Duchess of Sussex said in a statement
In a surprising move that caught many off guard, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced on August 11, 2025, that they are extending their creative partnership with Netflix through their Archewell Productions.
This multi-year, first-look deal will cover new film and television projects as well as an expansion of Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As ever, marking a significant evolution in their post-royal media endeavors.
The announcement comes amid earlier reports from July suggesting that the couple’s initial $100 million contract with Netflix — signed in 2020 — would not be renewed upon its expiration in September.
A Hollywood insider at the time attributed the anticipated shift to Netflix’s strategic realignment away from broad multi-project deals, similar to their recent transition to a first-look agreement with the Higher Ground production company, founded by former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
Despite this, Meghan, 44, expressed enthusiasm about deepening their collaboration: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand,” she said in a statement.
“My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”
Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, praised the couple’s impact on the streaming giant’s audience. “Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere,” she said.
“The response to their work speaks for itself — Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series.
More recently, fans have been inspired by With Love, Meghan, with products from the new As ever line consistently selling out in record time. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Archewell Productions and to entertain our members together.”
The couple’s previous projects under their Archewell Productions banner have included the documentary series Harry & Meghan (2022), which remains Netflix’s most-watched documentary debut to date, as well as Live to Lead (2022), Heart of Invictus (2023), and Polo (2024).
Their lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which debuted in early 2025 and was filmed in their Montecito, California home, featured Meghan sharing her cooking, entertaining, and lifestyle tips alongside celebrity guests like Mindy Kaling.
The series’ second season is set to premiere later this month and will include new appearances from familiar faces, including Chrissy Teigen and chef José Andrés.
Meghan shared fondly, “We love José so much. I’ve been fortunate to have the people that I want on the show… I’ve been really lucky. We have a great, great lineup.”
Beyond television, Meghan’s As ever brand, developed in partnership with Netflix, will continue expanding into new product categories, signaling a broader lifestyle business vision.
In December, viewers can also look forward to With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, a festive special filmed in Montecito that promises “a magical holiday celebration” filled with traditions, cooking, heartfelt gifts, and joy.
Adding to their slate of upcoming projects is Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, a documentary set in Uganda’s Masaka region. The film explores a local orphanage that, amidst the lingering effects of the HIV/AIDS crisis, has become a sanctuary of hope.
It follows orphaned children as they use dance and community to heal and envision brighter futures. The project reflects the couple’s ongoing commitment to stories of resilience and empowerment.
Despite rumors of a shutdown, the adaptation of the bestselling novel Meet Me at the Lake remains actively in development under Archewell Productions.
This romantic drama will explore a decade-spanning love story beginning with a chance encounter and a broken promise, promising to add a fresh dimension to their storytelling portfolio.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s extended partnership with Netflix represents more than just a business deal — it is a continued effort to carve out a unique space in entertainment and media, blending personal storytelling, social impact, and lifestyle branding.
The couple’s ability to attract wide audiences and deliver diverse content across genres shows a savvy understanding of the evolving media landscape.
Their announcement in August 2025 not only quashes prior speculation about their Netflix future but also sets the stage for a new chapter filled with creative ventures and expanded reach.
As their partnership with Netflix evolves, audiences worldwide will be watching closely to see how this royal duo transforms their vision into reality.
With multiple projects already underway and more on the horizon, Meghan and Harry are proving that their influence extends well beyond the monarchy, into the realms of entertainment, philanthropy, and culture — and they’re just getting started.
