Conservative commentator Greg Gutfeld mocked Thunberg’s claims on his show, labeling the mission a “flotilla of stupidity” and questioning the legitimacy of her actions.
In a bizarre twist of events, climate activist Greta Thunberg has found herself at the center of yet another controversy, this time claiming to be kidnapped by Israeli forces during a humanitarian mission to Gaza.
The incident has sparked outrage and ridicule across social media, with conservative commentator Greg Gutfeld leading the charge in mocking what he calls a “flotilla of stupidity.”
Thunberg, who has made headlines for her environmental activism, is now facing backlash after a video surfaced of her making a dramatic plea for help.
“My name is Kimbe. I’m a citizen of Sweden. If you are watching this video, I have been abducted and taken against my will by Israeli forces,” she states, her voice trembling with emotion.
“Our humanitarian mission was nonviolent and abiding by international law. Please tell my government to demand my and the others’ immediate release.”
Gutfeld wasted no time in ridiculing Thunberg’s claims during a recent episode of his late-night show. “Thankfully, the Swedes now treat her like defective furniture from IKEA—a broken mess with a few screws loose,” he quipped, eliciting laughter from his audience.
“Isn’t it great? He said everything,” Gutfeld added, referring to a Swedish journalist who sarcastically suggested that the Israeli government should keep Thunberg.
The journalist, speaking in a thick accent, stated, “If you see this video, Greta Thunberg has been abducted by Israeli forces. And I have a message from the Swedish people to the Israeli government: please keep her.
We have had her for so many years in Sweden, and we cannot stand it anymore. So, you are doing us a really big favor right now. Thank you very much.” The audience erupted in applause, clearly enjoying the biting humor.
Gutfeld’s commentary continued as he pointed out the absurdity of Thunberg’s situation. “You know, Greta Thunberg, you got to say this for her. She’s not wasting her donor money. She walks the walk. She cuts her own hair without a mirror,” he joked.
“But why is she getting so old? She used to be a little kid. Now she looks like Kathy Bates in ‘Misery.’”
As the banter progressed, Gutfeld and his panelists took aim at Thunberg’s past activism, suggesting that her recent actions reflect a deeper issue.
“It was only a matter of time before she got that haircut,” one panelist chimed in, referring to Thunberg’s now-iconic look. “You know what I call those? Medicare for all bangs. It’s like, I know where you stand on that.”
Discussion turned to Thunberg’s motivations, with Gutfeld questioning the sincerity of her humanitarian efforts. “Look, I think it’s a noble goal to want to bring aid to a war-torn country.
But the thing about a war-torn country is that it makes it dangerous,” he noted. “Everyone on this boat had to expect that this was going to happen, right? Nobody thought they were actually going to make it.”
The panelists also raised questions about the legitimacy of Thunberg’s mission. “I don’t think there were any supplies on the boat,” one remarked, referencing reports from Israeli police who claimed that the vessel was empty.
“It was just a PR stunt. The first time Greta went to Gaza, we didn’t care. Then she went again, and we still didn’t care. But the last time she went, the Israeli military gave her a sandwich. This time, she brought some friends.
The problem is, she went on Yom Kippur, and all the Jews are fasting. So this time, she didn’t get her sandwich.”
The jokes continued to flow as Gutfeld and his team dissected Thunberg’s predicament. “She is so adorably anti-Semitic,” one panelist quipped, while another compared her to a “Tobey Maguire in a bad wig.”
The humor was relentless, with Gutfeld suggesting that Thunberg’s next career move might be on a reality show, like “UK Celebrity Big Brother.”
As the discussion reached its peak, Gutfeld speculated about the potential consequences of Thunberg’s actions. “I wonder what would have happened if Hamas had gotten a hold of her,” he mused.
“Do you think Hamas would have given her like 30 seconds? They should take all of them and make them watch the videos from October 7th. That should be their punishment.”
In a final jab, Gutfeld concluded, “The whole fake flotilla routine is really getting old. I hope everybody has a safe journey home and that they just dedicate their minds and efforts to other things.”
His audience responded with laughter and applause, clearly entertained by the segment.
As Thunberg continues to navigate the fallout from this latest incident, one thing is clear: her controversial methods and public persona have made her a lightning rod for criticism, drawing both ire and amusement from various corners of the internet.
Whether or not she can recover from this latest PR nightmare remains to be seen, but for now, Gutfeld and his team have made it clear that they will not be letting her off the hook anytime soon.
