Who is Eric Bolling?

Eric Thomas Bolling is aΒ TVΒ personality, author, and conservativeΒ political commentator.

Bolling was born on March 2, 1963, inΒ Chicago,Β Illinois.

After graduating from Rollins College with a degree in economics, he had a brief stint in professional baseball, playing for theΒ Pittsburgh PiratesΒ before a rotator cuff injury cut his career short.

Bolling then worked as a commodities trader onΒ Wall Street and served as a panelist on CNBC’s Fast Money.

In March 2008, Bolling joinedΒ Fox Business NetworkΒ as a financial analyst.

He went on to serve as a co-host for several shows, including Happy Hour, Follow the Money with Eric Bolling, and Cashin’ In.

He also appeared as one of the five co-hosts on The Five and served asΒ a guest host for several Fox News opinion shows, includingΒ Fox and FriendsΒ and The O’Reilly Factor.

In 2016, he wrote Wake Up America: The Nine Virtues That Made Our Nation Great – and Why We Need Them More Than Ever.

The following year, he published his second book, The Swamp: Washington’s Murky Pool of Corruption and Cronyism and How Trump Can Drain It.

In May 2017, Bolling, alongsideΒ Katherine TimpfΒ andΒ Eboni Williams, began serving as co-host ofΒ Fox News Specialists.

After departing Fox News, Bolling joined the Conservative Review’s CRTV in the summer of 2018.

He later began hosting a TV show on TheBlaze network titled America.

In 2019, Bolling started hosting America This Week for Sinclair Broadcast Group, though the show was quietly canceled in January 2021.

He then launched aΒ podcastΒ with former football playerΒ Brett Favre, aptly titled Bolling with Favre.

Bolling currently resides in Boca Raton,Β Florida, withΒ his wife, Adrienne.

What happened to Eric Bolling?

On August 4, 2017, HuffPost published a piece on Bolling, claiming that he allegedly sent unsolicited, salacious text messages to his female colleagues at Fox News and Fox Business Network.

The report also alleged that Bolling made several unwanted advances toward his female colleagues, along withΒ inappropriate, lewd comments.

Bolling denied the allegations but was suspended from Fox News the following day, pending an investigation.

On September 7, 2017, Bolling departed Fox News, leading to the cancellation of Fox News Specialists.

β€œEric Bolling and Fox have agreed to part ways amicably,” the network said in a statement, as reported byΒ HuffPost.

β€œWe thank Eric for his ten years of service to our loyal viewers and wish him the best of luck,” the network added.

Tragically, the same day Bolling was let go from Fox, his 19-year-old son, Eric, died from anΒ accidental drug overdose.

Bolling later established the Eric Chase Foundation “in memory of his son as a platform for combatting the scourge of opioids that claims tens of thousands of American lives each year,” as reported on hisΒ website.

How long was Eric Bolling with Newsmax?

Newsmax Media, Inc. is a cable news and digital media company focusing on political opinion commentary.

The network typically broadcasts or reports conservative, right-wing, and far-right news and opinion pieces.

In June 2021, Newsmax announced they had hired Eric Bolling to its lineup.

Bolling β€œis a consummate media professional who isn’t afraid to ask tough questions, get provocative answers, and challenge establishment thinking, ” Chris Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax, said in a statement, as reported byΒ Deadline.

He began serving as a guest host on several network shows that summer.

In July 2021, Bolling officially began hosting Ering Bolling The Balance, quickly becoming one of Newsmax’s most-viewed shows.

The show, which aired weekdays at 8 pm ET, averaged 311,000 viewers in April 2024.

On May 31, 2024, Newsmax announced it was parting ways with Bolling.

β€œAfter working together for three years to produce, present, and break news for the American people, it’s time for Eric to embark on new endeavors,” said a statement on Bolling’s website, as reported byΒ Deadline.

β€œEric and Newsmax are grateful for their time together and proud of the work they have produced.”

Bolling posted a crypticΒ social mediaΒ postΒ alluding to his departure and next steps, writing “Stay Tuned,” on hisΒ Instagram.

As of June 5, 2024, no additional news concerning Bolling’s next career move has been announced.
