Bundesliga top scorers 2024-25: Omar Marmoush, Harry Kane & the race for the Torjagerkanone
The 2024-25 Bundesliga season is heating up with an exciting race for the Torjagerkanone, the prestigious award for the league’s top goal scorer.
Robert Lewandowski and Gerd Muller have won this prize a total of seven times. Since Lewandowski’s departure, Niclas Fullkrug and Christopher Nkunku scored 16 goals each to share the trophy in the 2022-23 season. Last season, Harry Kane scored an incredible 36 goals – a tally second to only Muller – to win the race and become top scorer.
This season, others could lead the charge as well. Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush, Stuttgart’s Ermedin Demirovic, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz are all turning heads after the first few rounds.
As the season progresses, other Bundesliga stars will also look to challenge the likes of Kane, setting up a thrilling race for the Torjagerkanone. With every match playing a crucial role in determining the final tally, this season promises a captivating contest as players battle for individual glory and to boost their team’s fortunes. Fans are eagerly following the action as the race for the Bundesliga’s top scorer intensifies.

Harry Kane may not have been at his peak during the European Championship, but he still managed to finish as a joint-top scorer. Now back to full fitness, the Bayern Munich striker is the clear frontrunner to claim the Bundesliga’s top scorer title once again, just as he did last season.
Kane netted a hat-trick in Bayern’s 6-1 demolition of Holstein Kiel in gameweek three and followed that up with another goal in a 5-0 rout over Werder Bremen. As long as he remains injury-free, the race for the prize is his to lose.

10Florian Wirtz | Bayer Leverkusen | 9 goals
Florian Wirtz is navigating against the grain as a central playmaker stationed just behind the striker. Few can rival the 21-year-old’s ability to maneuver through congested areas with such poise. Unlike his predecessors, who often drifted away from the space between the lines to dictate play, Wirtz thrives precisely in that zone. From there, he orchestrates the tempo of the game, even with limited time on the ball.
What sets Wirtz apart is his knack for breaking through opposition presses, enabling him to deliver incisive passes into the most dangerous areas with remarkable consistency. He often releases a teammate into space with precision, whether it’s a pinpoint through-ball slicing through the defense or a well-timed cutback near the penalty area. His link-up play, ability to beat a man and eye for a pass and goal mean the Pulheim native is a huge attacking weapon regardless of where he plays.
11Alexis Claude-Maurice | FC Augsburg | 9 goals
Last season, Claude-Maurice made 18 appearances for Nice in Ligue 1, yet the French midfielder managed just 495 minutes on the pitch for the club. However, his fortunes have taken a positive turn at Augsburg, where he has consistently contributed with crucial goals.
