“I begged Michael Landon to change the scripts,” Gilbert recalls, referring to the show’s creator and producer, “I just wasn’t ready, and I didn’t understand why I had to do it.

He was my boss, and I felt trapped.”

The scenes, filmed in front of more than 100 crew members, left Gilbert visibly shaken.

“I was terrified,” Gilbert admits.
