Paloma Faith Reveals the Unforgettable Advice That Made Angelina Jolie Laugh — and Buy Out the Store

Appearing on The Romesh Ranganathan Show earlier this week, the singer and actress revealed how a simple tip about washing delicate underwear once made Hollywood star Angelina Jolie burst into laughter and say she “loved” her.

An Unlikely Moment With a Hollywood Star

Before her music career took off, Paloma worked as a sales assistant at the high-end lingerie boutique Agent Provocateur.

One day, she found herself serving none other than Angelina Jolie, who was browsing for new underwear but hesitated after noticing that the items were labeled “hand wash only.”

Faith recalled Jolie’s reaction: “She said, ‘Oh that’s a pain, I’ve got to hand wash all this underwear.’”.

Paloma, never one to hold back, decided to offer a practical — if unconventional — solution.

“I told her, ‘When you go in the bath, put them in with you, rub a bit of soap in the gussets, give them a good clean, rinse them in the bath water, then hang them on the radiator.

By morning, they’ll be dry, and technically, they’ve been hand washed.’”.

The advice, Faith said, left Jolie laughing and delighted.

The actress not only appreciated the tip but ended up making a large purchase.

“She bought so much underwear and said she loved me,” Paloma said with a grin.

Working at Agent Provocateur, she explained, helped her reclaim confidence after surviving a traumatic past relationship.

In a separate interview, she shared that she had endured a violent attack from an ex-partner and later sought legal protection through an injunction.

Years after the incident, while on her way to work at the lingerie shop, she unexpectedly ran into him.

Paloma described the moment: “I was on my way to work, wearing my little pink uniform, feeling quite confident.

He drove past, got out, and asked to talk — said he wanted to clear things up.

I said, ‘Yeah, I’d like to go.’”.

The encounter, while surprising, underscored how far she had come from a dark chapter in her life.
