“Maybe I was not thought of or looked at”: Johnny Depp Claimed He Never Left Hollywood but was Abandoned by Tinsel Town in the Time of Crisis

Actor Johnny Depp is one of the best stars Hollywood has witnessed in the past four decades.
The actor has always shown dedication and has delivered some outstanding performances.
However, his remarkable career took a hit in the late 2010s due to his controversies.
Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard accused him of domestic abuse in 2016.
With Depp denying those claims, the two went to court to fight a highly-publicized case that became worldwide interest.
Due to these allegations, Depp’s image was completely damaged and as a result, he was dropped from several major projects.
With the case settled, the actor is now trying to find his place back in Hollywood.

After a long gap, actor Johnny Depp made an official public appearance at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival after he bagged a supporting role in director Maïwenn’s 2023 movie, Jeanne du Barry, which was screened at the event.
During the event, Depp was asked if he is planning to make his comeback, and the actor replied,
“I mean, you call it whatever you want, you could make it whatever you want but comeback? I mean, you have to go away to come back.
I didn’t go nowhere.
Maybe I was not thought of or looked at or allowed to be looked at.”.
The actor implied that he was intentionally removed from major projects due to his controversies.
He stated that the industry abandoned him and not the other way around.

Further in the interview, Depp explained that he is not letting his controversies faze him, explaining that he will bounce back,
“People can hit the bottom many times.
You can drop straight to the bottom a billion f***ing times, but if you’re lucky enough to find the basement, you’re alright, you know?”
A source close to Depp recently revealed that the actor is ready to work with Disney again despite the company removing him from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise because of his controversy.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s marriage was short-lived.
The two got married in 2015 and got divorced in 2016.
During the divorce proceedings, Heard obtained a temporary restraining order against Depp and accused him of domestic violence.
Depp then denied those accusations and very soon, the two fought lengthy court battles making several accusations against each other.
Amid these allegations, Depp was instantly removed from many famous franchises, including Fantastic Beasts and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Depp also filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard claiming that she damaged his reputation and career.
In 2022, the court ruled in favor of Depp.
