“I’ll never see him again”: Johnny Depp Was Depressed After Realising He Might Never Play ‘Jack Sparrow’ Again in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

Even after 2-decades since its inception, the character of Jack Sparrow remains one of the most iconic and well-written heroes to ever exist in Cinema history.
Even though near the end, the last two entries in the multibillion-dollar franchise went a little off-track from what made the original three work, Johnny Depp didn’t hold back from delivering his best to do the character justice.
But before Disney dropped the actor from the iconic role after the drama surrounding him and Amber Heard garnered media attention, Depp fell into depression after he stepped out from the role.

Playing the iconic character for almost 2-decades definitely took a toll on Johnny Depp to the point that stepping out from the role became difficult for the actor.
From taking inspiration from rock and roll legend Keith Richards and cartoon character Pepe Le Pew for his character, the actor poured his utmost dedication to perfect Jack Sparrow, resulting in one of the greatest heroes in Cinema.
But considering he was extremely dedicated to the role at an unhealthy level, the actor fell into a pit of depression after the filming was done.
He explained,
“I really loved being the character so much so that at the end of the film, when they wrapped the end of the film — and this has happened to me before — you go through a sort of a decompression, and a depression where you feel like, ‘God, I’ve just been this other guy for six months or seven months.
I’ll never see him again,’”
Although it has been six years since fans witnessed Johnny Depp in the boots of Jack Sparrow, it appears, there might still be a possibility to witness the Jeanne du Barry star in the iconic role again.

Jack Sparrow is reportedly open to returning as Jack Sparrow
With the Amber Heard trial ending in Johnny Depp’s favor, it is being reported that Disney is interested in signing the actor back to lead the iconic franchise.
And following the recent reports regarding the situation, it appears Depp has left the door of coming back to the iconic role open.
A source close to the Rango star stated,
“Anything is possible. If it’s the right project, he’ll do it.”

Even though it can’t be said for sure whether we’ll witness Jack Sparrow again on the big screen or not, fans will hope even if Depp agrees to return, the projects should be in line with the original trilogy.
Pirates of the Caribbean movies are available to stream on Disney Plus.
