Gordon Ramsay is unrecognisable in fake beard and glasses get-up as he goes undercover for US TV show

He previously dressed as Mrs Doubtfire for a hilarious segment for MasterChef Junior last month.

And Gordon Ramsay went undercover once again – this time disguising himself for an episode of American TV show Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, which aired on Thursday on FOX.

The celebrity chef, 51, looked completely unrecognisable in a fake beard and glasses as he transformed into a customer to visit the Brownstone Bistro located in LA.

Clean shaven: Gordon is known for his clean cut look with no facial hair and quaffed locks.

Gordon emerged from his trailer looking worlds away from his usual persona as he went undercover with a big bushy beard and black spectacles.

The fiery chef draped a green jumper around his shoulders and finished off his transformed look with a tweed flat cap.

With his disguise complete, Gordon joined more diners to test out the failing restaurants’ food, but was left unimpressed with their offerings.

Gordon then leapt out of his seat and dashed to the bathroom to peel off the faux facial hair, before heading back down to announce himself in front of the bewildered staff.

The restaurateur then set the challenge of turning the troubled Bistro around in only 24 hours, with changes to staff, food and the venue itself.

Gordon’s unrecognisable appearance comes days after American TV network FOX renewed 24 Hours To Hell And Back for a second season.

According to Variety, the show is this summer’s top-rated debut for 18-49 demographic, and FOX exec Rob Wade praised Gordon for his passion behind the reality hit.

Rob told the publication: ‘Gordon gives 100% in everything he does, and he took on the task of turning these restaurants around wholeheartedly,’ .

‘When all is said and done, it’s really Gordon’s heart that resonates with viewers, and we can’t wait to see who he helps save next season.’.

Meanwhile, Gordon – who shares his time between the UK and Los Angeles – has been injecting some long-overdue drama into the current season of Masterchef Australia.

The notoriously prickly chef guest-starred on the reality spin-off last month, and snapped at Blue Team leader Chloe Carroll, after she presented him food that tasted ‘like a rubber ball’.

 ‘Get your team together and start being a bit more authoritative, ’cause right now,  I’m thinking of shutting this place down!’ he barked.
