Angelina Jolie Can Return to The MCU If Next ‘Mega-Crossover’ Project Comes True

An alleged report by an insider hints at the possibility of Angelina Jolie’s return in the MCU alongside a necessary release of Eternals 2!

Eternals star Angelina Jolie can potentially return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe if insider Alex Perez’s reports prove to be true.

The insider has teased that Marvel hasn’t announced their full line of projects, but he is pretty sure that a Judgement Day project is allegedly in the works.

During the Q&A session on The Cosmic Circus, Perez talked about the projects that he is most excited about.

From the unannounced section, Perez stated that he is excited and waiting for Marvel’s announcement regarding a project titled Judgement Day, which is allegedly in the works.

That is announced? Brand New Day, Doomsday and Secret Wars.

That is not announced? Judgment Day.

Well, Judgement Day is indeed a very big project if Marvel does intend to adapt that into live-action.

Since Judgement Day depicts the battle between the Eternals and The X-Men, it could possibly mean the return of Angelina Jolie into the MCU.

What Is Judgement Day Event in Marvel?

In Marvel Comics back in 2022, a mega-crossover event called Judgement Day, which saw the Eternals fighting a war with the mutants, while the Avengers tried to maintain peace between the two factions.

During the self-discovery of the Eternals, it is revealed that the mutants were accidentally created by these Eternals when they tried to interfere with human DNA in hopes of making it better.

This mutation resulted in some iconic powers that were both used for good and bad by these mutants like Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto.

However, this interference causes the Eternals to wage a war against the Mutants, who have established the island of Krakoa as a sovereign state and live there.

The Avengers are caught in the crossfire between the two factions while a celestial rises from the Earth to judge the humanity of people. It’s a deeply connected storyline with three factions waging war on each other, and according to Alex Perez, the event is indeed happening.

Ergo, it is quite important that Marvel Studios develop and release Eternals 2 before they decide to release Judgement Day, since the story wouldn’t make sense.

Why Eternals 2 Needs to Happen Before Marvel’s Crossover Event

Following the death of Tiamut in Eternals and the guardians of Earth making themselves direct enemies of the universe’s powers, Eternals was left partway, and the storyline was left incomplete.

If Marvel is indeed considering the production and release of Judgement Day, they will need to consider making and releasing Eternals 2 as well.

Several truths have been hidden by the Eternals that they will need to eventually self-discover.

Being playthings of the higher ones in the grand scope of things, the Eternals will have to realize that they accidentally created mutants, and it was their interference that often interfered with human civilization.

However, for this realization to happen, the Eternals will have to be thrown into a movie and put against difficult odds.

The incomplete story of Kit Harington’s Black Knight, the powers of Ikarus, the corrupted mind of the Druid, all of these things will need to be given time and explored thoroughly before we can move on to Judgement Day.

Hence, Marvel Studios needs to make Eternals 2 before they can work on their ‘Mega-Crossover’ event, which could potentially hint at the return of Angelina Jolie as Thena in the MCU.
