A Brutal Fact About Drake’s Grammy Wins Makes Kendrick Lamar Winning 5 Grammys For ‘Not Like Us’ More Scathing
After dominating the verbal feud, Kendrick Lamar’s wins at the Grammys dwarf Drake’s record among the Recording Academy.

Since nabbing his first two Grammys in 2015, Kendrick Lamar hasn’t looked back, as his award tally just keeps on increasing. Moreover, prior to his vicious verbal feud with Drake, former President Barack Obama once picked Lamar over the two as the better performer, given his lyricism. The former president couldn’t have been more right, as in the duo’s beef, most considered Lamar the winner, especially after he dropped the track Not Like Us.

Not only did the Like That rapper’s diss tracks against the God’s Plan artist make him one of the biggest music sensations of last year, but Lamar’s Grammy wins this year alone equaled Drake’s overall record.
Kendrick Lamar continues his dominance with Not Like Us

As if Not Like Us wasn’t enough of a burn for Drake, which proved to be the turning point in their beef, the song has now earned the accolade for best record or best song, becoming only the second rap song to win the title. On top of this win, the track even turned victorious in all the other categories it competed.
With Kendrick Lamar taking home 5 wins this year, which wasn’t surprising given his genius as a lyricist, the rapper’s total Grammy count has now been boosted to 22, dwarfing Drake’s five wins from 55 nominations. While accepting the accolade, the Not Like Us rapper added, “We’re gonna dedicate this one to the city” before shouting out LA’s neighborhoods.
Drake has been critical of Grammys in the past

Although major artists, including Beyoncé, who won the Best Album accolade for Cowboy Carter, and Taylor Swift, were chiming to the diss track, Drake, whose name was absent from this year’s nominations, skipped the ceremony. This wasn’t surprising, as apart from apparently losing the beef to Lamar, the rapper has previously spoken critically of the Recording Academy.
In one of his IG stories, the God’s Plan artist wrote (via Buzzfeed):
All you incredible artists remember this show isn’t the facts it’s just the opinion of a group of people who’s name are kept a secret (literally you can google it). Congrats to anybody winning anything for hip hop but this show doesn’t dictate shit in our world.
While the Grammys don’t completely dictate an artist’s true caliber, it doesn’t take away from Lamar’s historic feats. Fans can also expect to chime to the hit diss track one more time in this year’s Super Bowl, which will center around the Grammy Winner.
