Authorities identified the dismembered body found in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who went missing in 2024.

Authorities in California have identified the remains of a teenage girl found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to musician David Anthony Burke, the rising pop star known as D4vd.

The victim, Celeste Rivas, 15, was reported missing from Lake Elsinore in 2024 when she was just 13 years old.

Her decomposed and dismembered body was discovered last week in an impound lot in the Hollywood Hills after staff reported a foul odor emanating from the vehicle.

The grisly discovery has stunned fans, devastated her family, and placed the 20-year-old singer under intense public scrutiny as investigators continue to piece together what happened.

The vehicle where Rivas’ body was found had been impounded earlier in September, with investigators later confirming it was registered to Burke.

While the artist has not been named a suspect, officials say he has been cooperating with authorities. A spokesperson for Burke stated he was “fully compliant” with the investigation and had offered all requested assistance.

Despite these assurances, the link between the slain girl and the pop star has fueled public speculation, especially after revelations about potential connections between Rivas’ past and Burke’s personal life.

Rivas’ mother, who identified her daughter through distinctive tattoos, revealed that Celeste had once been romantically involved with a boy named David.

This has deepened suspicions surrounding the case, though law enforcement has not yet confirmed whether that relationship was connected to Burke himself.

The teenager had a tattoo reading “Shhh…” on her right index finger, matching one that Burke sports and similar to designs made famous by celebrities like Rihanna and Lindsay Lohan.

The eerie coincidence has fueled rumors about a closer link between the two, though authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation while the investigation is ongoing.

The teen’s remains were found wrapped in plastic inside the car’s trunk. She was wearing a tube top, black leggings, studded earrings, and a yellow bracelet when discovered.

Due to the state of decomposition, her body was not fully intact, making immediate identification difficult. Initial confirmation came after the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office compared evidence to missing persons reports.

Rivas had been missing since 2024, with her disappearance prompting widespread searches and community appeals in her hometown of Lake Elsinore.

The case took on a new dimension when details of the Tesla’s ownership surfaced. Burke, who rose to fame in 2022 with his viral hit “Romantic Homicide,” had been preparing for tour dates when the story broke.

At the time of the discovery, he was active on social media, posting updates for his 2 million Instagram followers.

He has since faced major career fallout. Retail giants Crocs and Hollister, who had only recently announced partnerships with him for their “Dream Drop” campaign, cut ties within days of the news.

Campaign images were released with his face cropped out, signaling an immediate and deliberate effort to distance the brands from the controversy.

The fallout has also extended to Burke’s tour schedule. Reports surfaced that he canceled a scheduled performance at The Showbox in Seattle, though ticket sales continued online and the venue had not publicly confirmed the cancellation at the time of publication.

Fans expressed confusion and frustration across social media, with some defending the artist’s right to due process while others demanded accountability.

Meanwhile, Rivas’ family has been left shattered by the news. Her mother told reporters that as soon as she learned a young woman’s body had been found in the Tesla, she suspected it was her daughter.

“I knew it was her,” she said, recalling the moment her worst fears were confirmed. Missing persons posters from 2024 show a smiling 13-year-old Celeste, whose disappearance at the time was reported to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office but never resolved.

Investigators are now working to establish a clearer timeline of events between Rivas’ disappearance and the discovery of her body more than a year later. Questions remain about how long the Tesla had been sitting in the impound lot and who had last driven it.

Law enforcement sources indicated that forensic testing is ongoing to determine the cause of death and whether additional evidence inside the vehicle can shed light on how Rivas ended up there.

Burke, whose career has been defined by both moody lyrics and viral success, has yet to make a public statement on the case.

His representatives have emphasized that he is not considered a suspect and that he was in Minneapolis preparing for a concert when the discovery was made.

Still, his connection to the vehicle and the uncanny similarities between his tattoo and the one found on Rivas have made him a central figure in the investigation’s narrative.

Community advocates have used the case to highlight broader concerns about vulnerable teenagers and the risks they face, particularly in cases of prolonged disappearances.

“This is a devastating reminder of what can happen when young people go missing and are not found quickly,” one child safety advocate in Los Angeles told reporters. “Celeste’s case deserves justice, but it also demands accountability from a system that failed to protect her.”

As tributes pour in for Rivas, her story has sparked national attention and renewed debate about celebrity culture, responsibility, and the often-unseen connections between artists and their fans.

For now, investigators say the case remains open and active, with no charges filed. But for a grieving mother and a community left reeling, the questions continue to outweigh the answers.
