he’s played with. There’s a photograph

of Bobby with Clapton right there back

in the day. And here’s another one of

him with Dwayne Alman. Cool one. But

yeah, beautiful music. If you get a

chance, try to go on Amazon. I’ll put a

link to one of his records. See if you

could find it. But here’s an album he

did featuring Harrison and Clapton. And

uh fun storyteller as well. Uh here’s a

photograph of Derek and the dominoes.

Uh Eric Clapton, Bobby Jim Gordon,

Carl. Um Jim Gordon, infamous drummer

who actually murdered his mother. Uh Jim

Gordon, very talented musician, played

on a lot of great records from Your So

Vain, had a crazy story, but wrote the

outro for Leila. And of course, you know

that famous scene in Good Fellas. So,

here’s a story of Bobby talking with his

wife on their show that I’m going to

pull up right here for you. Check this

out right here. Get a clip.

Jim, he could play piano, but he

couldn’t play piano. He didn’t have any

feel. He was a great drummer, but he not

didn’t have any feel as a a keyboard

player. And so,

uh, I had the perfect term for a while

ago.

Support. Was that what you

Yeah. I was basically support piano. In

the very intro of of the KOD, you can

hear the piano clearly just by itself.

That’s Jim because he played everything

on down, you know. But you if you’re

listening to the piano, you can hear it

change suddenly. It has a feel to it.

That’s what I’m I’m playing. I played a

support piano on top of his piano to

give it some feel.

So that’s I mean,

if you know what you’re listening for,

you know what I’m playing because it it

goes out there.

I mean, it has a little more flow to it,

you know?

Right. And also, uh, maybe some people

aren’t aware of this, but you didn’t you

added the KOD like after you record.

Oh, yeah. It was a big dispute went down

over even having it on there. We’d

already finished the album. We’ gone

back to England and everything. And then

Jim went out when got with Robert

Stigwood was Eric’s manager and they

worked out some kind of deal cuz I was

against having the on. I was against it.

It had nothing to do with the song, but

it turns out to be a part of it after

all these years.

Well, let me ask you, was was Eric

supportive of having that on there?

No. No. No. Well, you see, there’s a a

particular photograph of us sitting in

the al cove of one of his uh uh cease in

in the guard and you know, and Jeep is

at our feet and everything and

Eric’s kind of looking pissed off like

this and then Jim’s kind of over here.

He’s kind of looking a little bit

apprehensive. We had had the whole big

deal go down about that damn Kota and uh

Jim went behind Eric’s back and went to

Robert Stigwood and worked out a deal to

have it on there. And so that was taken

right after the the cat fight, let’s

say.

And you were sitting next to

I was sitting right next to Eric.

Yeah, you’re Carl was Carl was leaning

up. He said, “I don’t want any part of

this, you know.” And I’m sitting there

next to Eric. So, I knew what had

happened, you know, and I was against it

and everything like that.

So, you’re talking about the promo

photograph

about what maybe half a dozen of those

if

Yeah, there were only a few. You know,

there’s there’s a couple of them

wild.

I didn’t know that story.

That alcohol, but you can see Eric less

than happy and Jim kind of looking over.

Well, ultimately he had no say so

because he Jim worked something out with

Robert Stigwood. They made a deal.

He had already cut a deal with Stiggy

and I was against it. I wasn’t okay with

it and Eric wasn’t okay with it. You can

look in his face and see.
