🌲🪓⚡ “Mountain Men” Vanished Without a Trace — The Mysterious Silence After Season 13 Has Fans Asking One Chilling Question: What Happened in 2025?
History’s “Mountain Men” is one of the most beloved shows in the survivalist TV world.
Since it first aired back in 2012, the show has followed the highs and lows of people who choose to live in some of the most isolated and extreme conditions in the United States.
Living off the land, trapping, and building shelters to get through brutal winters may sound unusual to most of us, but for the stars of “Mountain Men,” that’s daily life.
They keep the traditions of an off-the-grid lifestyle alive, no matter how tough it gets.
And sure, the price for that kind of life is steep, but that’s exactly what makes their journey so entertaining and inspiring to watch.

So, what’s happening with “Mountain Men” these days?
Is it still on the air, or has it been canceled in 2025?
And what are the cast members up to now?
Let’s dig in.
The short answer is NO.
“Mountain Men” hasn’t been canceled in 2025.
While some fans assumed it was, the truth is the show wrapped up its 13th season in December 2024.
According to TV Shows Ace, it’s set to premiere new episodes in late 2025.
That schedule makes sense when you look at the show’s history.
Since 2012, most seasons have premiered in the middle or later months of the year.
That’s because “Mountain Men” takes months of filming before it’s ready for post-production and release.
As for the cast, season 13 featured familiar names like Marty Meador, Tom Oar, Jake Herrick, and Mike Horseman.
So, when season 14 does arrive, fans can expect a similar lineup.
And here’s more proof the show is going strong: in May 2025, several cast members, including Tom and Nancy Oar and Jake Herrick, attended a fan meeting event.

Now that we’ve cleared up the cancellation rumors, let’s catch up on the current and former cast members and see the adventurous paths they’ve been on lately.
Marty has always been a fan favorite.
Viewers were heartbroken when this pilot and smoke jumper said goodbye to the show in 2019.
His reason? He wanted more time with his daughter after retiring from the Alaska fire services.
But in 2024, Marty surprised everyone by returning in season 13, this time sharing his wild adventures with his now older daughter.
Still, Marty keeps a very low profile.
His social media accounts have been inactive for a long time, so outside of what “Mountain Men” shows us, there’s not much info about him.
Another favorite is Eustace Conway, a survivalist and naturalist living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
His calm personality and outlook stood out from the other hard-driving men on the show.
Eustace left in the season 12 finale, and it’s unclear if he’ll return, but it’s safe to say he’s doing well.
He stepped back from running the Turtle Island Preserve to focus on his Airbnb business, though he’s still involved in the preserve’s educational work.
On top of that, Eustace helped his community during recovery efforts after Hurricane Helen caused serious damage in several U.S. states in 2024.
Tom Oar is the very definition of a mountain man: tough, hardworking, and deeply admired by fans.
He lives in northwestern Montana with his wife Nancy, and together, they face all the challenges that come with living near the Yaak River.
Despite false rumors of his death spreading online, Tom is alive and well in 2025.
Alongside his appearances on “Mountain Men,” he also runs Tom Oar Handcrafts, an online shop where fans can buy his knives, accessories, and other naturally sourced items.
If you want to keep up with him, Tom’s Facebook page is updated pretty often.
Jason Hawk joined “Mountain Men” in season 5 and remained a regular for four seasons.
Viewers saw him balancing life as a bladesmith and a family man while living in the Ozarks of Arkansas.
Even though he hasn’t been on the show since 2019, fans followed his journey as he bravely shared his battle with cancer.
Sadly, after years of treatment and financial struggles, Jason passed away on January 25, 2025.
Jake Herrick joined in season 7 and quickly became known for his survival skills and his hound breeding in the Montana mountains.
Unlike some of the others, Jake is very active on social media.
He promotes both his role on the show and his business, Treatup Outfitters.
This business specializes in teaching tourists and beginner hunters how to track mountain lions under Jake’s guidance.
In March 2025, Jake achieved one of his biggest personal milestones: he welcomed his son, Jet Jacob.
From seasons 7 through 11, Mike Horseman was a regular presence on the show.
He stepped away during season 12 but came back for season 13, where he took on challenges like fishing in freezing waters and cutting roads through icy terrain on Kodiak Island.
But Mike’s no stranger to extreme survival.
His business, Kodiak Guide Service, has been running for over 40 years, teaching people how to hunt and survive in harsh conditions.

Fans might also recognize him from another History Channel show, “The Hunt.”
All in all, it’s clear that most of the cast members of “Mountain Men” are doing well and continuing to live the life they love.
The show isn’t canceled.
New episodes are on the horizon, and the stars, past and present, remain as fascinating as ever.
