Serena Williams Defends Taylor Swift After Eagles Fans Boo Her at the Super Bowl

Taylor Swift’s mere presence at a football game tends to draw some pretty extreme reactions from fans—and, unsurprisingly, her appearance at the big game at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans was no different.

When the pop star was shown on the Jumbotron, thousands of Eagles fans loudly booed her. Swift grew up in Pennsylvania and used to be an Eagles supporter, which might help to explain the dramatic reaction. As Swift heard the crowd booing, her eyes went wide, and she gave a strong side eye to her friend, Ice Spice, who sat on her right. She then smiled and laughed uncomfortably as the booing continued.

Tennis champion Serena Williams was quick to voice her support for Swift. “I love you @taylorswift13,” she wrote in a post on X. “Don’t listen to those booo!!”

Swift wore a sharp white blazer paired with a white tank top and white over-the-knee boots for her appearance at the game. Her outfit also contained a few subtle Easter eggs, including a repurposed “T” chain necklace, which she had originally worn as a garter at the Grammys.
