some bad news about a famous actor, Michael Madson.
Michael Madson was born on
September 25th, 1957 in Chicago,
Illinois. Michael’s parents were Elaine
Melson, an Emmy-winning filmmaker and
author, and Calvin Christian Madson, a
World War II Navy veteran and
firefighter. His heritage included
Danish on his father’s side and Irish
and Native American on his mother’s. His
sisters are actress Virginia Madson and
entrepreneur Cheryl Madson. Michael was
married three times and he had six
children. His son Hudson unfortunately
passed away in January of 2022. Michael
began his acting career at the Steenwill
Theater in Chicago where he apprenticed
under John Malkovich. Later he rose to
prominence for his role as the menacing
Mr. Blonde and Quentyn Tarantino’s
Reservoir Dogs in 1992. He became a
regular in Tarantino’s films, also
appearing in both Kill Bill movies, The
Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time on
Hollywood.
His extensive filmography included
appearances in films such as War Games,
The Natural, Thelma and Louise, Free
Willie, Donnie Brasco, and Die Another
Day. Beyond acting, Michael was also a
published author. He penned six books of
poetry. Sadly, Michael Madson died on
July 3rd, 2025. He was found
unresponsive in his home in Malibu,
California with the apparent cause of
death being cardiac arrest. He was only
67 years old. Michael Madson’s death was
rather shocking to me. Beyond the fact
that he was only 67 years old, I was a
big fan of his movies that he appeared
in. Uh, I love all the Quentyn Tarantino
movies and I think he added a lot to
them.
